About Mike

Mike Harrison Photographer

Whether I’m creating art or memories, I always love the quest for that perfect photograph. In reality, the perfect photograph is only perfect in the time and space of which it is taken. Photography is both challenging and humbling. It’s a battle of light and shadow and color against the magic of a digital camera that offers me dozens of variables in aperature and speed and ISO and focus. You probably don’t care about the means to the end, but the end itself. That’s my job.

My interest in photography started as a child taking pictures of my parents with a Kodak Brownie box camera. I bought my first 35mm film camera when I joined the Navy over 40 years ago. That was all fun and memories. I became more serious about photography after my retirement, and since that time have taken tens of thousands of commercial photographs. Today I’m more retired than not and now have the time to be passionate and creative rather than efficient.

I value the opportunity to photograph you, or you and your family, child, newborn, spouse, partner, or friend. My interest is creating and capturing a special moment in time and space, whether it’s in the park, at the lake, at your place or mine. My sessions are relaxed, not rushed, and we don’t punch a clock. My talented wife is my posing assistant. You can relax and enjoy the moment as we do our best to capture your perfect photo.
